I set up a writing centre space for my three year year old and even though she is at the very beginning of the pre-writing stage I thought it might be nice to set up a designated space. I’ve just kept it simple to start with, some white A4 paper, some writing tools (triangular pencils and pens etc), alphabet wallet cards and some alphabet books. I do not have any sandpaper letters or a sand tray out as I thought I would just start with a few items first and go from there. A nice, neat space to inspire creativity.
Writing Caddy. The book in front is Eating the Alphabet by Lois Ehlert. The one behind is a simple picture phonics book.
The Melissa and Doug Alphabet puzzle was used today. My three year old has been able to complete this puzzle easily for a long time but she still enjoys doing it. Repetition is a good thing.
