Nature Journaling- our nature journals and art caddy

Do your children enjoy writing, drawing or painting what they observe in nature? Maybe they enjoy collecting found items such as leaves, flower petals or feathers and sticking them into a book for safe keeping? One way we foster nature journaling is to spend lost of time in nature and where possible, have our art caddy near by when inspiration strikes.

Childrens Nature Journals
My children’s nature journals. In the past we have made our own, but this time we purchased these ones to try.

My children are free to use their journals any way they please, but here are some Nature journal ideas for those who may be interested in ways one can use a nature journal:

  • sketches
  • pressed flowers or other found items
  • poetry
  • photographs
  • collage
  • leaf or bark rubbings
